The Moth Radio Response

1. My opinions on what I heard are rather crazy. Sounds a bit weird but I actually thought some parts were funny. I didnt really like although it was kinda funny because it's about a black guy taking a white kid home by the order of the kid's mother. They're pulled over by the police & seperates the two. One cop tells  Cleveland, the black guy, to keep quiet while another has an interview-like conversation with the kid. They talk up to a point where the cop reveals a badge, causing the kid to start yelling, cussing the cops out. That crept me out. I mean like a kid cussing at & threatening cops?  Uh uh!

2. There's a difference in how the cops talk to the two. The cop talking with the kid had a rather calm tone in his voice. The one talking to Cleve sounded warning and a little threatning.

3. Noah speaks with an anxious tone. Cleveland speaks with a voice he uses to clarify things out.

4. I didn't hear any stereotypes in the recording other than the background laughter.

5. They believe Cleve when the cops call Noah's mom.

6. I think Ms. Edwards chose this story as a relation to TKMB. This could be related to TKMB because it has racism. TKMB takes place in a time where racism is at large. Same with this story.

Intro Talk for TKMB

  1. Girls should act like girls. I disagree because that's basically telling how people should act. Girls can be tomboys, and its not rare that others mistake some tomboys as actual boys. My cousin is a tomboy herself, and downright looks like a boy, with the exception of her voice.
  2. Nobody is all good or all bad. I agree because there is no mortal (my own way of saying "person" or "people") I know who is perfect, in good or evil. When people do good or bad things, it's common for them to do the exact opposite in the end. In OMAM (Of Mice And Men) Lennie, a mentally disabled character in the story, is known for having unprecidented strength when at work at a ranch he and his friend George work at, and is also known for unintentionally killing small animals such as mice and puppies, and even ends up killing Curley's wife.

Blog Entry #5 If you could change the ending in Of Mice and Men how would you change it?

I would have changed Lennie's death, and Lennie "accidentally" killing Curley's wife. When Curley's wife went to talk to Lennie, she should not have let Lennie touch her hair, surely because she saw the dead puppy that Lennie was petting and already knew how it died.  She knew how strong Lennie was, for when she wandered the ranch to find someone to talk to, she saw Lennie singlehandedly carry bags that no ordinary man could carry alone. She somehow even knew how Curley's hand "got caught in a machine". So when Curley's wife went to see Lennie, she whould have kept a certain distance away from Lennie. If she kept her distance, she wouldn't have died. If she didn't die then Lennie could have avoided trouble.

Blog Entry # 4

I think it was right for George to shoot Lennie in the back of the head. Lennie did so many offensive and accidental things that caused George to snap so many times before. In addition to that, he also  constantly snapped necks of mice, a puppy, and later on, Curley's wife. Curley, who lost his hand and his wife to Lennie, went after him with the rest of the men on the ranch, intending to shoot Lennie. Bottom line is Lennie will still die anyway if he and George ran away because Curley is a relentless man who doesn't stop in getting what he wants to be done over with. So instead of Lennie dying a painful death with a bullet shot into his gut, he died a painless but reasonable death with a bullet shot into his head.

Blog Entry # 3

I'm going to agree that Carlson should kill the old dog because the dog already had a life. However, shooting an animal just because it's old and sometimes useless isn't always right. If the animal can be a threat or has a contagious disease that can infect anyone standing around that animal then yes, it has to go. But if the animal is still healthy but very old, killing the animal would be like murdering someone because that person is different than the other. Killing animals is only appropriate if they're in a sickly state. It's not right to kill an animal if it is still in a healthy state, especially if it's young or newborn. There are some animals which are endangered because they're killed off for some particular reason.
A picture of twin puppies I decided to post as a part of this blog entry.

Blog Entry # 2

What I like about school is for the most part I meet with my friends. But I also do like the way my teachers encourage me to push myself to do well. This cost me many important things like spending time with my family, having time to relax, and even my time to eat and sleep! Although those things have been taken away from me, I'm not going to object. I can handle getting 8,6,4,2, or even no hours of sleep at all, going on a full day with no food, keep trying to complete my homework without rest, I aim for all A's. I wouldn't really change anything in my own school customization. School should be a place for students to learn, maybe meet new friends, meet with past friends, and also think up ideas on what they should do when they grow up. There is one friend whom I've met back in middle school who I will never forget. Since the first day we met we've been very close, so close that we call each other by "brother". His name is Avis. He's someone who is unforgettable and takes things pretty seriously.

Blog Entry #1

My name is  Jeremy Salazar. My blog site is at http://www.jcselemental.blogspot.com/. There's a reason behind the "elemental" part of my site name. I will also create a few more blog sites in the future so I'll post a few reminders later on.  I enjoy  playing video games, watching TV, reading, listening to music on my phone, & practicing my skills at the Tayari Casel Martial Arts Academy. My favorite food is sushi.  My favorite kind of music I listen to is Gothic Metal. An example of a music group I enjoy listening to is called Artrosis (a Polish Gothic Metal band created in 1995, comparable to Evanescence). My favorite video game I play is called "Way of the Samurai 3". During the first few moments of the game, it looks pretty boring, but as you progress through the game, things start to heat up. Usually I don't watch that much TV, but occasionally I'd watch Phineas & Ferb with my brother, although I'd bail out in the middle of the show sometimes. I joined the Tayari Casel Martial Arts academy in June 2009. It's tiring, but very fun. We're currently doing a year long documentary so everything my martial arts friends and I do in class is going to be shown on TV in 2012 on PBS. I'm finishing the series "Legend of the Five Rings." I'm on the 2nd to last book. The last five books were awesome. I'm not really fond of blogging, but I see some interest in it. I just hope I don't get anything negative on my site.
